Philips Mini White SON Lamp (Master SDW-TG White SON)
Sodium Mini White SON is one of the two key HID (High Intensity Discharge) lamp type options available for the HUNZA® Architectural Series ST150 luminaire, supplied in either 50 or 100 watts.
Landscaping lighting effects can be greatly enhanced by selecting the right colour temperature light source to match the subject. The colour temperature of light is measured in degrees Kelvin, ranging from warm colours in the lower part of the scale, characterised by red and yellow tones, to cooler colours in the upper part of the scale, which tend to be more blue.
The Philips White SON lamp is a very warm light source with a tendency toward the lower (red) end of the Kelvin scale at 2550 Degrees K, therefore it is especially effective at enhancing bricks, sandstone, limestone and trees with brownish bark, which are rich in have reds and yellows.
In addition to the very attractive warm colour temperature, White SON also offers very high energy efficiency and excellent colour rendering features, make it ideal for use in retail display and downlighting applications and it is perfect for highlighting colours and textures in fabrics, flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables.
These lamps do not have an integral reflector so this is supplied as part of the HUNZA® ST Luminaire, with a range of beam angles from 12 to 60 degrees. This type of lamp/reflector system provides both versatility and economy as the reflector is not replaced at each lamp change.
White SON lamps require a special ballast for correct performance and when you order your HUNZA® ST150 luminaire, it will be supplied with the correct ballast for the lamp type specified.
To prevent installation of the White SON lamp into the wrong type of ST150, there is a small lug beside one of the contact pins - the new modified caps are classified as types GX12-1 and GX12
